Flat warts

Flat or young warts are growths on viral skin and are characteristic of children and young adults. They appear due to the failure of the immune system at a young age and the inability to resist certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV). The disease is caused by HPV types 3, 5, and 10. These types of viruses are very common in nature, mainly spread through direct contact, mainly among children. This disease will only manifest itself as the immune status is violated, and the warts will disappear on their own over time.

reason

The appearance of flat warts is due to the introduction of human papillomavirus types 3, 5, and 10 into the skin. Papillomavirus penetrates small cracks and crevices in the skin and infects keratinocytes. It changes the DNA of the cells and they begin to produce collagen in large quantities, which leads to the growth of the stratum corneum and the formation of warts.

The virus is spread through direct contact with an infected person. Children mainly develop after contact with other children in kindergartens or schools, but adult carriers with no signs of disease may also become the source of the virus. When scratching or shaving, the wart spreads all over the body.

symptom

When infected with the virus, flat, round or oval nodules up to 3 mm in diameter appear on the skin. Papules can merge with each other to form a polygonal burst. Usually, maternal warts form first, and then smaller daughter warts appear around them. When scratching, the pimples grow linearly because the virus spreads in the direction of the comb. There can be one or more nodules-it depends on the degree of body resistance. In terms of color, these structures are no different from healthy skin, but sometimes they appear pale yellow or brown.

Flat warts on the skin

The rash has a smooth surface without itching, pain or burning. Papules are mainly located on the skin of the hands or on the face-where the virus particles were first exposed. Although they can spread to other surfaces: forearms, oral mucosa, or the red edges of lips.

diagnosis

It is sufficient to assess the specific clinical situation and perform an examination. The polymerase chain reaction is rarely used to identify viruses.

There are many warts, and the treatment is ineffective. A comprehensive examination of the body and the patient's immune status is carried out. A common course usually indicates a more serious health problem.

How to get rid of flat warts?

  1. Use anti-worming drugs to strengthen the immune system.
  2. Cuticle separators and antiviral agents are also used: 5% resorcinol salicylate ointment, oxolinic ointment, ointment or cream containing interferon α-2, and 10% silver nitrate solution. It is not recommended to use silver nitrate to remove flat warts on the face.
  3. In rare cases, cryotherapy and laser removal are used.

When a child develops a wart, the possibility of self-healing is high, so it is only monitored in most cases.

Treat with folk remedies

There are many effective ways to treat warts with folk remedies. They are based on the use of plants and substances with keratolytic properties:

  1. Celandine. The sap of this plant stem helps to dissolve the top layer of the wart. The nodules are lubricated with celandine juice several times a day until they are fully recovered.
  2. Potato. Spread the porridge from the top layer of the potato (just under the skin) on the wart and wrap it with a bandage. The dressing is left overnight. The procedure should be performed every other day until the pimples disappear.
  3. vinegar. Once a day, apply vinegar to the surface of the resulting skin area until it is completely healed.
  4. Longevity flower. Spread the porridge of longevity flower and leaf on the pimples, and put a bandage or gauze napkin on it. The compression is left for several hours. This procedure must be carried out every day.

Predictions and consequences

The appearance of juvenile warts has a good prognosis. These structures will not develop malignant tumors, and will quickly disappear with the normalization of immunity.

In order to avoid their appearance, you need to wash your child's hands thoroughly after visiting any public place, and treat colds and other diseases that reduce immunity in time.
